For graphic design seniors, one of the final projects we get to work on is the Senior Exhibition. It was really rewarding to work with my classmates as a team and watch as we brought our thesis projects to life.
I was assigned to work with the Exhibition Identity Team, which was in charge of coming up with both the name of this semester’s exhibition and the brand identity that would be used by the other teams for promotions, collateral, the website, and the exhibition space.
We were drawn to the name “In Our Own Words” for the exhibition because it felt very editorial and we liked that it represented the class. We also liked that we could change the word “our” to make it more personal for each student (ex. a poster highlighting a student that says “In His Own Words”). We chose a CMYK inspired color palette because it’s one of the first things you learn about when you’re just starting out as a design student.
